Bits on Young catchers
If a keeper league is your type of thing, then i have some advice for you as to a few young catchers that should be under consideration.
With Jarrod Saltalamacchia of the Rangers and Russell Martin on the Dodgers are regarded as two of the best young catchers in the game, if Kurt Suzuki can continue to improve each season he will be among the best catchers in the game.
Jarrod Saltalamacchia- now the everyday guy for the Rangers, this young man be putting up some monstrous numbers. Catching is a tough fantasy position to get really good numbers. Salty, I have projected
Russel Martin- Martin has a big upside. I have projected him to hit 19 HR’s and drive in 82 RBI’s but will come up huge in the hits department with the projection of 161 hits. Martin should be one of the first 3 catchers taken in the draft.
Kurt Suzuki- handed to him via the trade of Jason Kendall. This kids put up good numbers at the end of the season. What is more impressive is the fact he has only been in the A’s organization for only 3 years. He is on the verge of becoming one of the elite catchers of the game. Store him away at the end of the draft and pull it out later and impress your friends.

No way anyone should keep a catcher – EVER!

How is a catcher any different than any other position? To say you should never keep a catcher is rather puzzling. Good catchers, as good second baseman need to be kept if room allows. To win a fantasy league, one must keep an open mind.
