This is a power position. Teams love to have sluggers here. Feel free when drafting to take a couple of players from this position. They can go along way to lead you to the “leader of the pack”.
1. Alex Rodriguez- ok, everyone on the planet has him number one. Not just number one at third [...]

Edgar Renteria is joining one of the majors’ best offenses in Detroit and is coming off a season in which he hit .332. But this year’s Tigers are so loaded offensively that instead of batting second in front of Chipper Jones (1.029 OPS in 2007), Renteria will likely hit in the No. 8 spot in [...]

If your league values OBP, then here are some names to consider. In a few days I will give you a few very good players that just don’t cut it when it comes to on base percentage.
David Ortiz- His average draft position seems to be about 18. He should be about 12th behind Soriano and [...]

Rounds 11 through 15 are the targets for today…. some will be there in your draft and some won’t.
GOOD-BAD
GOOD- Trevor Hoffman Yeah, he’s 40, but that’s also how many saves you’re basically guaranteed to get year in and year out. An image of consistency, the only knock on Hoffman in this draft, is his age. [...]

EDIT: Don’t get fooled by these slick fielding guys. Yes, they are the staple of the infield but in almost all fantasy leagues the glove work does you no good. Pick the offensive stat guys.
Here they are : (runs, hits, hr, rbi, sb projections)
1- Jose Reyes- This is the real deal of fantasy shortstops. Reyes can [...]

Let’s look at where most players fall in rounds 6-10. Some drafts may have them there and some not.
GOOD-BAD-
GOOD- Aaron Harang . The always undervalued Harang is about the 14th starting pitcher selected in most drafts.. You can expect another 15-plus wins and 200-plus strikeouts for this soon to be 30-year-old.
BAD- Ian Kinsler- I really [...]

Top Second Basemen
Traditionally, second base fantasy players have been the weakest of all positions. After Utley it become a hodge-podge get who you can. If you don’t get the top dog here, then wait and get someone later. I am going to list my Top 5 and then 5 others. Along with each player will [...]

No columns on Sunday’s… just a bunch of Bits.
Brian Roberts- the way i see it: w/ O’s
95 r, 13 hr, 70 rbi, 40 sb, .295 avg
w/ Cubs
115 r, 15 hr, 70 rbi, 40 sb, 295 avg
I think he’s a great 4th or 5th round pick if he goes to the cubs, but easily drops [...]

Today’s column will focus on some good draft moves and some bad draft moves. I am not saying some of these players should never be drafted, just be wary as to what round of the draft you find yourself picking the player. I will attempt to start at the early drafts rounds and work to [...]

The power producing position.
1. Albert Pujols- Albert has been a steady as a rock for several years now. Definately the top fantasy player at this position. Keep an eye on him though as he has publicly stated he will not play in pain as he did last year. Therefore, depending on when and if surgery [...]
